I live in an area where there are large wetlands. In the spring of 2007 I start hearing this loud squelching coming from the back yard. Keep in mind that I have a bird feeder out back and bird bath. When I looked out the back window I could see this amazing yellow headed bird parched on the fence squawking just as loud as can be. That was it I was just in love with this beautiful bird. Needless to say I went to the computer to do my research.
This wonder-us bird is a Yellow-headed Blackbird. They have one of the most unusual of all bird calls and are decidedly unmusical, with its various hoarse chuckles, cacophonous strangling noises, and honking gurgles.

Their legs are very long so that they can spend lots of time perched on reed stalks. The males are very territorial and put on quite an interesting show in front of the female. They may sometimes choose up to six mates in one season.

As we starting approaching spring of 2008 I was wondering if I was going to see my exciting and loud feathered friends. And much to my surprise on 4-04-08 I noticed my first male yellow-head land to fest on some seed.

These are truly amazing birds to enjoy if you are a bird lover like me!

A few weeks ago a morning dove bird couple decided to build a nest outside my front door. Mind you this nest was made out of flowers from my flower pots. As the weeks went by I learned a lot about the morning dove from reading. It turns out that everything I read was very accurate. They lay two eggs, the male sits on the nest during the day and the female sits on it at night. Once the eggs hatch and the babies get to big the parents come by just to feed them. And before you know it the babies get just the right size to fly enough to land on the ground safely. They are the type of bird that likes nesting on the ground or rocks just to hang out and rest or sleep.

I smile every time I think about the first morning I opened the front door and saw just one black eye. I said to myself hmmmmm, mommy just has one bird. So I start taking tons of pictures day after day. Now it's week two and I see yet another black eye. Yes! There we're two babies and by this time I'm really excited! At the end of week two on Aug 27th the two kids flew from the nest to a chair outside my front door and slept there all night. The next morning they were gone and neither the parents or the kids have returned.

I miss them a lot and I will leave the nest in hopes that maybe they will return.

I have lots of pictures to keep the memories a live.

This is now day 5 of one of the worst colds I've had in years. I had a fever for 4 days in a row. It's pretty bad when you are as white as the pajama top your wearing and your body aches so bad that is hurts to move.

After days of being just miserable. My daughter and granddaughter came over to bring me homemade soup. Now that was the best medicine anyone could ask for.

And finally! What I think really started all this being sick stuff, was the fact that I have been a smoker for over five years. Which gave me bronchitis and burned my throat raw.

I guess I had to learn the hard way to quit smoking.

Getting ready for a yard sale is never easy! I thought I mucked and weeded through everything the last time I moved. Apparently not... And let's not forget the (Stuff I had left from eBay).

I'm looking forward to meeting people as they come to look at my goods.

So when my yard sales is over, I will be just a tiny bit richer and less clutter in the house. And what about the pickers looking for that special something.
P.S. The question is: How many type-O's should a City News Paper have? And on there news web-site?
Today was a good day for me. I actually took the car and drove myself to the stores. It's something I should do more often. My husband David and the family are always telling me to get out more. It's just that I'm the type of person that loves being a home body and a loner. There is never a time that I don't have something to do. Having a project in the works is an on going thing. And in the same breath! my husband and family are always telling me that I should make time to make things in my craft room. So I have come to the conclusion that I will just go with the flow and take each day and fill it up with what ever happens.
